What about our accommodations?

Two Palaces where we stayed:

See us in the corner of this grand hall?
Those old Rajas and Moguls lived it up centuries ago, but how are we doing you asked?  Here are the two most recent places:

We spent our wetlands tour nights in the 111 year old palace owned by a member of the defunct royal family. We didn't see them, of course, but saw lots of family photos on the walls.  We've seen this style of narrow walkways and carved sandstone rails around the courtyards of the palaces and now we get to see it up close.  Walk on them and know that OSHA in the US would have a conniption fit over the low rail hight.

Next door they built a restaurant, dining hall, convention/meeting building of similar designWe ate dinner in the new grand dining room.  We loved the central courtyard and the narrow carved sandstone walkway to get to our door.

Our room in the palace.

This fellow wraps his two foot long mustache over his ears and around his head, then wraps over 9 yards of cloth around his head to hold the rest of his never cut hair.  Did I say amazing before?

View from the rear patio of our room.  We could walk along the outside of the building behind these sandstone carved 100+ year old support posts.  Solid sandstone!  No paint needed.  100 yrs old.

Resort and Palace near Jaipur:  The Rajas had nothing on us.  Glorious break in the middle of the trip.
